Today, the last day of the year I decided I had better get "to it" and prepare the loom for my next project - shawls.
I am using rayon boucle from Strings N Things

Measuring the warp

Tying on

Almost done with dressing the loom

Ready to weave
Whew. That always takes longer than I remember. This time it took even longer because I haven't woven since last June and am out of practice

And I helped! Well, I held the thread while she pulled it tight. Still, it's nice to be part of an extended process that yields such useful and beautiful bounty.
ReplyDeleteAnd it will be finished in time for my birthday in February, right........ hello... tap, tap... is this thing on... hello
ReplyDeleteGiggle, giggle. You are a riot Amy. I finished weaving that shawl yesterday. One of the reasons I like weaving is I can complete a project quickly. I warped up enough warp for 2 shawls. I won't actually finish this one until I woven the second one. Maybe I'll do that today.
ReplyDeleteI love the variegated thickness of the yarn you are using.
